A Busy Sunday

Sunday, November 6th, 2005 was a very exciting day in the Roland household. Not only were Caleb and Laura Kate baptized, Caleb was able to play his first offertory!
He had practiced and practiced the song, "Oh, How I Love Jesus" over and over and over and over.....well, you get the point. :>) He would play it for anyone who walked in our door, as well as several people on the phone!
Finally, the big day arrived. It was so special to watch him as he sat up on stage like a little man. Closing his eyes, he played his piece from memory. You could see his mouth shape the words as he played; "Oh, how I love Jesus, Oh, how I love Jesus, Oh, how I love Jesus, The sweetest name I know." He didn't even seem the least bit nervous. Well, that is until he finished and began to make his exit, almost falling off the stage!
Then, at the end of the morning service, both Laura and Caleb were baptized. (Abbie, had been baptized in the fall of last year.) Each had expressed a desire to share their salvation experience with others and were able to give testament of a personal saving faith in Christ alone for salvation! And when it was all done, Laura was so excited that she even told the waitress at Golden Corral that she had just been baptized!
The chuckle of the day came, though, when we returned to church on Sunday evening. Laura Kate's Sunday School teacher reported to me that, as Laura came up out of the water, one of the bus kids on the front row said in amazement, "Wow. Look. Laura got baptized and it WASHED HER CURLS AWAY!"
Pretty cute. Huh.
